From July 7-17, 2027, we will stay at the Volivoli Beach Resort. Volivoli is an award-winning, four-star boutique resort that offers plenty for the diver or non-diver to do. Indulge in world-class diving, savor gourmet dining, unwind in the spa, or have a drink at the pool bar. Volivoli Beach Resort promises an unforgettable experience whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation. It is just a ten-minute drive from the town of Rakiraki or a two-hour and a half to three-hour scenic drive from Nadi International Airport. 

The resort has a swimming pool, spa, and beachfront for relaxing. For dining, there is an open-air restaurant and bar, Nuku, and the Ra Bar & Grill on the beach.

The resort is located in the Bligh waters area, one of Fiji's best diving destinations. Over 90 dive sites are within a 15-50-minute boat ride, and three House Reefs teeming with macro life are accessible directly from the resort through the walk-in entry.  The Bligh Water (also known as The Vatu-I-Ra Passage) hosts an unimaginable amount of structure in the form of coral reefs — some rising from 3000 ft to 3 ft in a sheer wall, with over 390 different species of coral, and over 2,300 fish species. 

 Experienced OW divers and above with good buoyancy control. Dive sites are determined by “BEST CONDITIONS” based on water visibility, tides, currents, surge, swell, and wind. Surface signal tubes are always recommended. 

Get packed and be ready for one of the best dive trips ever.  CIDA is not making travel arrangements for the group, but we will help organize your transportation from the Nadi airport to the resort and back. Most people will probably be flying in from Los Angeles, with an early arrival time, but not everyone, so your arrival times may vary. Upon arrival at the Nadi airport on July 7, 2027, you will be greeted by the shuttle driver who will have a Volivoli sign as you exit the airport. The ride to Volivoli is a 2.5—to 3-hour scenic ride to the resort. Once there, we will check in, get our rooms, settle in, have a late lunch, and get ready for 10 days filled with lots of new diving adventures.

For the flight home out of Nadi on July 17, 2027, the resort staff will take care of all the arrangements to get us to the airport 3 hours before our departure.

Volivoli Beach Resort began when the Darling family moved to Fiji in 1993. Steve Darling Senior was contracted to project manage the last 35km of Fiji’s main highway, The Kings Road, from Rakiraki to Suva. He moved his family from Murchison, New Zealand, to Rakiraki, Fiji, immersing them in island life and teaching them to dive at a small dive shop, Ra Divers.

After purchasing Ra Divers Fiji's most reputable and longest-established (1990) dive operation, the legacy of Volivoli Beach Resort began. Now, with over 100 staff from the local villages and community working at the resort, many have been with the resort from the beginning. For dining, the main restaurant and bar is Nuku. It is a casual open-air restaurant with five-star cuisine and beautiful ocean views, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a nice dinner with friends. If you prefer something casual, easy and fun, the Ra Bar & Grill is the place to be. It’s situated right on the beach by the dive shop and boasts the closest draft beer to the ocean in Fiji. If that’s not enough they also have their swim up pool bar.

One thing for sure, no matter where you eat at Volivoli Resort you will find them using the freshest ingredients they can. Most all of it is fresh from local farms, organic and the seafood responsibly sourced and caught from the surrounding region.

The Accommodations

Volivoli Beach Resort offers a variety of accommodations with panoramic beach and ocean views. Our group will be staying in both Premium and Deluxe Ocean View Rooms, beautifully finished in sustainable hardwoods. The premium rooms feature one queen-size bed for couples, and the deluxe rooms have two single beds for two single people. The rooms have deck chairs, large ceiling fans, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and a balcony with Volivoli’s famous 180-degree ocean views! If you wish to take a break from diving, the pool or the beach is the perfect place to relax or pamper yourself at the Spa. No matter what it is you like, Volivoli is the ideal place to be.

The Diving

Volivoli Beach Resort is the ultimate diving paradise in Fiji for beginners and advanced divers alike, located in the Bligh waters, one of Fiji's best diving destinations. There are over 90 dive sites, all within a 15-50 minute boat ride.

The resort is also home to Ra Divers, a fully certified PADI & SSI dive center with over 18 years of experience. With five purpose-built dive boats in their fleet, they are ready to take you on your next adventure.

The Bligh Water (also known as The Vatu-I-Ra Passage) hosts an unimaginable amount of structure in the form of coral reefs — some rising from 3000 ft to 3 ft in a sheer wall. With over 390 different species of coral and over 2,300 fish species, and sites like Breathtaker, Mellow Yellow, Black Magic Mountain, E-6, Golden Dreams, Dream Maker, Amazing Maze, Heaven’s Door, Mt Mutiny, and Pure Magic, you will for sure want to return.

If you don’t get enough diving on the boat dives, the three House Reefs are available 24/7/365, accessible directly from the resort through walk-in entry. They also have a couple of wrecks close by, the MV Ovalau II and Papuan Explorer.
